Computing Area, Volume & Barycenter of Non-NURBS Objects

The surface area, volume, and barycenter (center of gravity) can also be computed for primitives, curved surfaces, and polygon meshes.

Usage

  1. Select the object(s) to compute the surface area, volume, or barycenter of. Objects must be 3D solids with thickness and not have holes. NURBS surfaces, primitives, curved surfaces, extruded solids, revolved solids, and polygon meshes are valid.

  2. From the Control Bar, click the Compute button and select the measurement you wish to compute.
  3. The computed measurement is shown in the Figure Window and displayed in the Measurement Window.

Caution Measurements of objects with non-manifold geometry or border edges cannot be computed.
