Tools used to edit line objects are found here. To edit an object, select it in the Figure Window or Browser, and then select a tool from the Toolbox.
- Iron
- Use the Iron tool to automatically adjust control points and smooth line objects. This tool can be used on line objects, curved surfaces, and selected control points.
- Polygon Smoothing
- Use the Smooth tool to automatically adjust line handles and smooth line objects. This tool can be used on line objects, curved surfaces, and selected control points.
- Unsmooth
- Line handles are deleted by applying Unsmooth. This tool can be used on line objects, curved surfaces, and selected control points.
- Switch
- Switches between displaying the curved surface's lengthwise and crosswise/lateral lines in the Browser.
- Reverse
- When a control point is selected in Modify Mode, reverses the direction of the line handle.
Selecting a line object in a mode other than the Modify mode will reverse the order of the control points. Selecting a curved surface in a mode other than the Modify mode will reverse the order of the control points of the line object making up the curved surface (in the display direction). - Round Edge
- The Round Edge tool rounds off or smooths edges of control points of surface line objects. This tool can be used on line objects and selected control points.
Selecting a line object that is the element of a curved surface, will round off the edges of that curved surface. This function is applied to the line objects that are elements of the curved surface. However, if line objects in the intersecting direction are open line objects, this function cannot be applied to the top and bottom line objects.
Set the radius for rounding off the edges by dragging in the Figure Window or entering a value in the Radius Text Box in the Round Edge Tool Parameters.
If you set the radius by dragging in the Figure Window, the radius increases by dragging upward, or decreases by dragging downward.Changes occuring while dragging in the Figure Window are depicted in the Tool Parameters. - Bevel Edge
- Edges of control points and curved surfaces can be beveled. This tool can be used on line objects and selected control points.
Selecting a line object that is the element of a curved surface will bevel the edges of that curved surface. This function is applied to the line objects that are elements of the curved surface. However, if line objects in the intersecting direction are open line objects, this function cannot be applied to the top and bottom line objects.
Set the radius for beveling the edges by dragging in the Figure Window or entering a value in the Radius Text Box in the Bevel Edge Tool Parameters.
If you set the radius by dragging in the Figure Window, the radius increases by dragging upward, or decreases by dragging downward.Changes occuring while dragging in the Figure Window are depicted in the Tool Parameters. - Degenerate to Point
- Selected line objects and control points are converged to an averaged point.
- Offset
- Creates offset line objects from a selected line object or a surface part.
See also Line Offset
- Thickness
- Creates thickness for one or more selected curved surfaces.
See also Thickness (Curved Surfaces)
- Add Point
- The Add Point tool allows you to add a control point by dragging across a line object in Modify Mode.
- Delete
- Deletes the selected object or control points.
- Create Handle
- Dragging the selected control point will create a line handle.
- Unlink Handle
- Dragging the selected line handle will fold it.
