Shade3D Help (Contents)

ShadeGrid

In environments with multiple computers connected via a TCP/IP network, ShadeGrid Server can be used to share rendering processes between computers, reducing rendering time. Alternatively, rendering can be relegated to other computers, freeing up system resources on the user's computer for other work.

ShadeGrid Server runs on both Windows and Mac OS X, and can be used with all grades of Shade3D.

Rendering methods supported in ShadeGrid Server include Ray Tracing (Draft), Ray Tracing, and Path Tracing.

Radiosity, ToonRenderer, and Wireframe rendering cannot be used with ShadeGrid Server.

System requirements for ShadeGrid Server are the same as those for Shade3D.

On computers with multiple CPUs, thread partitioning is done automatically, taking advantage of all CPUs when rendering.

ShadeGrid Server is included with all grades of Shade3D, but Shade3D Standard and Basic are limited to using one server machine.
