Using PoserFusion
Basic Operations of PoserFusion
Use the following methods to load Poser files into Shade3D.
- Select View > PoserFusion. The PoserFusion Window opens.
PoserFusion - In the window that appears, click the Poser button to specify the location where Poser is installed.
NoteSelect the location where Poser is installed, not the program file itself.

The objects of the Poser file appear in the Figure Window.
If the imported Poser file contains animation, it loads beginning at frame 0.
Motion playback by Shade3D utilizes animation data within the Poser file. If you delete the Poser file from your scene, all motion information is also deleted.
PoserFusion Step by Step
In this tutorial, you load a model made in Shade3D into a Poser scene, then along with an animated Poser character, save an animated scene. When the saved Poser scene is loaded into Shade3D, you will create a complete, animated scene.
- Create a new figure in Shade3D. See the example object depicted here.
- Export the chair in OBJ format, then import the chair into your Poser scene. Set up the chair in Poser in order to use it with the Poser figure.
- Next, lets set up the human figure for animation.
- Make sure you save your Poser file in .pz3 or .pzz format.
- Now import your newly created .pz3 or .pzz file into Shade3D.
Open the Motion Window by selecting View > Motion.
Poser animation inherited from the Poser file appears in the Motion Window timeline.
Motion
The poses or positions within the first and last frames set within Poser appear with the join values of 0 and 1 within the Motion Window.
- Click the Play Button to play back the animation.
You can also move the key points in order to customize the animation. - Make the scene more interesting by placing the woman and chair within a room.

NoteWhen Display Bounding Box is on, the individual parts of the Poser figure or object cannot be selected in the Browser. To select individual parts, turn off Display Bounding Box.
Working Poser Files within Shade
Poser files loaded into Shade3D by way of PoserFusion can contain a lot of data, including the model geometry itself, textures and keyframe values.
Poser figures imported into Shade3D are treated as a single polygon mesh. You cannot edit the motion itself or repose that figure directly in Shade3D.
If you need to edit figure or its motion go back and re-edit the animation within Poser, then resave your Poser file. Within Shade3D, open the PoserFusion Window and click the Update Button. This updates the Poser data within Shade.
