The External Reference Info window has been implemented to configure batch expired link reference files instead of file-by-file configuration.
Main Menu File > External Reference Info
External Reference Window
- External Reference Tab
- Display a list of external references to which the referenced file has been loaded correctly used in the scene.
- Unlinked File Tab
- Display a list of unlinked references to which the referenced file has been expired used in the scene.
- Thumbnail (External Reference Tab)
- Display thumbnails of externally referenced shapes and surface materials.
- Image, Master Material
- Display a preview.
- Master Shape
- Display an icon.
- Thumbnail (Unlinked File Tab)
- Display an icon or blank.
- Image
- Display blank.
- Master Shape, Master Material
- Display an icon.
- Type
- The type of external references. e.g. image, master material or master shape etc..
- Name
- The name of external references.
- Path
- The path of external references.
- If the path does not fit in the window, you can hover the mouse cursor over the path to display the full path.
- Set Tracking Folder...
- Specify the folder where the selected item in the list is located. You can select multiple items.
- If the specified folder contains the same name file, the path to the selected item will be changed.
- No change if the file with the same name is not found.
- Browse File...
- Specify the reference file for a single selected item in the list.
- Select Object
- Select the object corresponding to the item in the list. You can select multiple items.
- You can check the object that uses the external reference in the Browser or the Figure Window.
- Update
- Update the list of External Reference Info window by re-search in the scene file.
NoteDouble-click an item in the list to open the file selection dialog.
Usage
Automatic check when opening a scene.
- A dialog will be shown if there is a file in the opened scene whose reference link is expired.
- Click OK to automatically open the Unlinked File tab in the External Reference Info window.
Reset Reference Link
Set Tracking Folder
- Select the item to reset the reference folder from the list. You can select multiple items.
- Select Set Tracking Folder....
- Specify the folder in the folder selection dialog.
- If the specified folder contains the same name file, the item will be moved from Unlinked File tab to External Reference tab.
Set Reference File
- Select one item to reset the reference file from the list.
- Select Browse File....
- Specify the file in the file selection dialog.
- Selected item will be moved from Unlinked File tab to External Reference tab.
Unresolved Files
If the External Reference Info window is closed and there is remaining item in the Unlinked File tab, a warning dialog will be displayed.
(only for the case that the external reference window is opened automatically)
